Polish investment in Egypt – Feerum builds a factory worth 130 million PLN

Date26 Aug 2024

The Polish company Feerum, known globally for producing innovative grain storage solutions, has made a groundbreaking decision to invest in Egypt. This project, valued at 130 million PLN and located in the industrial zone of East Port Said within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, represents the first Polish manufacturing investment of this scale in Egypt.

Investment in Egypt: A new chapter for Feerum

Feerum, a leader in the production of silos, dryers, and grain transport systems, has successfully executed projects across Europe, Asia, and Africa. The choice of Egypt as the site for a new factory producing components and spare parts for the construction and maintenance of grain silos highlights the company’s strategic approach to business expansion. The decision to locate in the East Port Said industrial zone is no coincidence — Egypt has long focused on developing economic and free trade zones to attract foreign investors.

Benefits of the investment

Feerum’s investment in Egypt brings numerous benefits. Primarily, due to lower operational costs, the company will be able to efficiently execute projects not only in the local market but also across Africa and the Middle East. The support of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), which has been assisting Feerum since its initial steps in the Egyptian market, also played a crucial role in realizing this project.

Egypt as a promising market

With a population of over 110 million and the largest economy in North Africa, Egypt presents an up-and-coming market for Polish enterprises. Its strategic location at the crossroads of trade routes, developed infrastructure, and policies supporting the inflow of foreign investments make it an attractive destination for companies in various sectors, including agri-food, construction, and technology.

Conclusion

Feerum’s investment in Egypt is an important step towards strengthening Polish-Egyptian economic relations. It exemplifies how Polish companies can successfully expand into international markets by leveraging local resources and the support of institutions like PAIH. By focusing on innovation and global expansion, Feerum is opening a new chapter in the history of cooperation between Poland and Egypt, which could bring benefits to both sides.
